You might see if you can't post the movie for the iArm; there's another snazzy upgrade that would probably start people talking. Personally, I would rather wait until the sensor-equipped one is available. Might be awkward losing one's local sense of kinesthesia. Control has to be re-learned, and the brain may not be so receptive to such rewiring.

I also think the prices quoted here are an order of magnitude under what they worth on terms of quality of life, let alone what the development costs will be to get USFDA or AMA approval.

I think the 1MB size of the memory chip is grossly underpowered. I would expect the storage capacity not only to be upgradable, but to start in the gigabytes. Consider the humble flash drive. You can already buy a 64GB stick at you local computer store.

About a month ago I went ahead and installed the 'Telescope lens' implant.
A word of caution: The surgery experience is not for the faint of hearts! I had a full-blown panic attack when I woke up post-op. The blindness was horrifying. The doctor had to call my fiancée, so she could calm me down, lead me to the car and drive me home.
I opted to have the control of the implant wired to my visual cortex. It meant an extra surgery, and longer downtime, but I don't want to have to lug around a load of remotes everywhere I go.
The adaptation process was hard. Learning to focus the eyes and zoom level manual by though was a chore, and it took well over three weeks (with a paid tutor) to finally master the technique. I threw my hands up in disgust and despair several times during the process, which probably prolonged the entire affair. The effort paid off though!
Now, for the actual review of the implant!
The experience is great. I can honestly say that I've never before in my life been so astonished by anything.
Before the implant, I had an genetic error that caused my sight to dim progressively over the years. I was looking at near blindness by 70. I have been wearing heavy duty glasses for the better part of my life. This all changed now though. My sight has been fixed, and what change! Not only is my sight perfect, the zoom function is over the top. I will never need binoculars again, and given my line of work, that means one less item to carry around. I can read the headlines and frontage article of the newspaper on the stand down the road, from my apartment window. That's two blocks away.
The lenses react and focus quickly to changes in the weather and sight conditions way better than my eyes ever did by themselves.
I did notice that the lenses scrape easily though, when put under stress like extreme temperatures, dirt or gravel. It's easily fixed by a quick visit to the clinic, but if your an active and adventuring person it means an ongoing expense, and a possible hindrance, depending on the severity.
In the end, I can only but recommend this implant. It's a worthwhile addition to your body if you have a daily need for long distance viewing.

The pain just stopped after the addition of my titanium bones, and I have to say that I am VERY pleased with the results so far. I've gone up from 74 to 93 kg's, and I am ALOT stronger now. The added weight really strained my muscles in the beginning, but the end results are amazing. My muscles aren't that much bigger, but BOY am I sculpted, and that's only after training for 60 minutes twice a week now. I really recommend this implant to, well, everyone really.
I'm yet to put the actual strength of my new skeleton to the test, but if everything goes as planned, I for one wont be afraid of mountaineering ever again.
Of note: I had to reinforce my furniture. Also, I've experienced a weird pull whenever I pass by magnetic fields, and I can now clip fridge magnets to my forehead. Hidden benefit?
I'll keep you posted on how the rest of my implants will fare. I'll go one step at a time.

it's interesting how consumption oriented this site is.. of course, that's not so surprising, that we all would consume these cyborg body part if we could. I'm not european though so the costs dont really translate for me.. there is no pressure NOT to buy.. a theoretical cyborg shopping spree to outfit my body.

I was initially a little confused and afraid...wondering if we had come so far already. Then I realized that this was just a very well though out discussion piece. I became very intrigued and even started to question my self and initial reaction. I am what you call "old school" but still I must admit that the thought of some of the possibilites were fleetingly appealing. Then I thought to myself that if this were real...there would most certainly be imense ramifications. I wouldn't want a chip inside of me...it could be used for tracking or mind control or used to stop my heart one day...who knows. I sincerely hope that our fascination with technology will not lead us to this. SCARY. I love technology but in many ways I think that humanity needs to get more organic instead of more artificial. Excellent work, i might add...great job to the artist and all those involved.

Recent research has indicated the Parietal Lobes are responsible for the sensation of the "religious experience". I am an aetheist who would like to experience god, but my parietal lobes appear to be deficient in this spiritual area. Would you consider manufacturing a "god chip" so i can feel for myself what all the (religious) fuss is about. PS - I notice your form only allows male or female genders. My augmented gender does not appear. Could you please make your form compatible with multiple gender plugins. thankyou. Aeolian Sharp
